identity factory (decoder version) (2025) - for 4 performers, video and 3D audio electronics
Duration: 13'17''
Program Note:
Am "I" a double agent between myself and the extended world?
Looking toward the future, are our identities becoming ever-changing and boundary-less organs within digital collective consciousness?
iᵈᵉᶜᵒᵈᵉʳdentity factory reimagines the virtual-audio performance space as a living "body," where screens, sound, and live performance function as interconnected "organs" in dynamic interplay. This work is the ensemble version of identity factory composed specifically for Decoder. It critically examines the reproduction, commodification, circulation, and consumption of the body as a simulacrum. Furthermore, it explores how the re-embodiment of identity is performed, shaped, transformed, refragmented, and represented through the integration of social constructs and technology in the digital age.
